Study on appropriate warehousing and collateral management systems in sub-Saharan Africa - Volume 3 - Review of applicable laws

Financing solutions tailored to specific parts of the value chain are vital to improve farmers’ access to finance. Warehouse receipt financing provides one such tool. It enables the post-harvest part of the chain to work more efficiently, while farmers who can access warehouse receipt finance have more flexibility in the timing of their sales. This wide-ranging three-volume report features research carried out by a large, multidisciplinary team in nine African countries. A standard reference that will be influential for years to come, it identifies bottlenecks to the wider use of warehouse receipt finance and formulates proposals for action. Here, Volume III provides a review of applicable laws.
