How to create an account on this website

If you are already a subscriber to Spore or to CTA publications

Existing PDS subscribers received a secret 8-character code (digits and letters) and a personal subscriber number. This information was sent to your postal address. If you have changed address please let us know. You will not be able to order on-line without this subscriber number and code.

  1. On the homepage of https://publications.cta.int/ select ‘My Account ’ and then ‘Activate web account ’.
  2. Enter your subscriber number and code.
  3. Please check your account information and update it if necessary.
  4. Then click ‘Subscribe’. You will receive an e-mail asking you to validate your subscription.

If you are not a subscriber to Spore or to CTA publications

As a prospective CTA Publishing account holder we would like to say welcome to our site and our catalogue! Follow the steps below to create your account.

  1. Select ‘Apply for a free subscription’on the homepage.
  2. Complete the subscription form making sure to check everything is correct before selecting ‘Subscribe’ at the bottom of the page.
  3. You will receive an e-mail asking you to activate your account. This email is sent to the email address you provided in the subscription form. Note that you can only start ordering publications once your account has been approved and activated.

What are credit points?

All titles (see publications details in Help) in CTA catalogue have been given a nominal value in credit points. On acceptance of a subscription application, CTA allocates to eligible subscribers a number of credit points which may be used to order publications. On 1 January every year, the subscribers receive their annual credit points (200 credit points) increased by the amount of credit points spent during the previous year. The subscribers not placing an order for two years will have their subscription terminated automatically. They can re-submit an application, if they so wish.

How to order CTA publications with credit points

Important: please use only one of the following channels. Otherwise, your order will be processed twice, you will receive twice the same books and your credit points will be deducted twice!

If you have subscription to our publications and an account through this website

Follow the simple steps below to find the title(s) you would like and to place your order. Then just sit back and wait for your new publications to arrive.

  1. If you have not already done so, as an existing subscriber, you should first activate your subscription (see ‘Activating your subscription ’).
  2. Browse for publications by category and language, select one of the featured ‘New titles ’, ‘Bestsellers’ or ‘Series ’, or search the catalogue using the search function. You can enter the publication number, title or keyword in the search.
  3. When you find what you are looking for simply select ‘Add to shopping cart ’ beside the desired title.
  4. Once you have made your final selection,click ‘Proceed to check out ’.
  5. The next page you will see is the shopping cart. Here you can amend your order and view the total cost in points. Select ‘Completetransaction ’ to place your order.
  6. You can track your order at any time by clicking on ‘Orders ’ once you have logged in to your account.

If you have subscription to our (co-)publications but if you do not have a regular internet connection

You can still order the publications you wish by sending an email to pdsorders@cta.int (clearly indicating your subscription number and your delivery address) or by sending by post a completed publications order form (provided by CTA). Your order will be processed up to the limit of your credit points.

  1. Select ‘Apply for a free subscription’on the homepage.
  2. Complete the subscription form making sure to check everything is correct before selecting ‘Subscribe ’ at the bottom of the page.
  3. You will receive an email asking you to activate your account. This email is sent to the email address you provided in the subscription form. Note that you can only start ordering publications once your account has been approved and activated.

How to communicate an address change

Address changes must be communicated to CTA as soon as possible.

There are different channels to communicate an address change:

If you have an account through this website

If you are moving home or changing jobs you should notify us as soon as possible of your new address. This will allow us to ensure you never
miss an issue of Spore and that you receive the publications you have ordered.

  1. Click on ‘My account ’ on the homepage.
  2. Enter your log-in details.
  3. To update your personal details, select the area you wish to update (my information, organisation details, addresses, subscriptions).
  4. Select ‘Edit details’ and make any relevant changes

If you do not have a regular access to internet

Please communicate your address change to CTA by e-mail to pdsorders@cta.int or by post to CTA (PDS) P.O.Box 173 – 6700 AD Wageningen – The Netherlands. Please clearly indicate your old address and your new address.

How can I check the status of my orders?

If you have an account through this website

You can track your order at any time by clicking on ‘Orders ’ once you have logged in to your account.

If you do not have a regular access to the internet

Please send your request to CTA by e-mail to pdsorders@cta.int or by post to CTA-PDS – P.O.Box 173 – 6700 AD Wageningen – The Netherlands. Please note that the delivery of your order can take from one to three months, depending on your postal system. If you are waiting for your publications for more than three months, we suggest that you report the problem to your local post office.

What can I do if my order has not been delivered after six months?

CTA is not responsible for the non-delivery of publications. If you believe that the books you ordered were lost, you can reorder them using your remaining credit points. Please always report the problem to your local post office. Please also inform CTA by e-mail (pdsorders@cta.int) or by post (CTA-PDS – P.O.Box 173 – 6700 AD Wageningen – The Netherlands).

What should I do if I have not received my secret activation code?

 You should e-mail us at pdsorders@cta.int with the following information:

-       Your subscriber number

-       Your family name

-       Your full postal address (N.B. if you have changed address please send us the old address and the new address).

Without this information we are unable to provide you with your activation code.

Can CTA activate my account for me if I give them my subscription number and code ?

No, however if you do not have any regular internet access you can always send us your change of address information or your publication orders by e-mail (pdsorders@cta.int) or by post. Your subscription will still be valid even if you do not activate your web account.

  1. Remember to only place your order once using just one method (e-mail, post, or on-line) otherwise your account will be debited twice and you will receive multiple copies of the same publication.

Is it possible to order several publications at the same time?

Yes. You can order several titles together by selecting ‘Add to shopping cart’ and then ‘Place my order’. You can select ‘Back to store’ to continue ordering. Do not select ‘Complete transaction’ until your shopping cart contains all the publications you wish to place at the time.

How can I communicate feedback on the publications that I received?

If you have recently read a CTA publication and if you would like to assess it, please follow these steps:

  1. Select the title you would like to rate on https://publications.cta.int/ .
  2. Click on the button ‘Write a review’.
  3. Answer the three questions.
  4. Write your review, explaining in a few words the changes that the publication brought about in your activities. Be specific and give concrete examples.
  5. Rate the publication, the highest score being five stars.
  6. Click on the button ‘Post your review’.
