The Mobile Phone: A Solution to rural agricultural communication - a case study of Rakai district, Uganda

Communication and information are fundamental building blocks of social and economic development. In recent years, there have been incredible advances in technologies that have facilitated communication and the flow of information.
The explosion of new information and communication technologies on to the agricultural development scene offers an opportunity to extend the reach of current information systems.
ICTs can amplify the efforts of extension and advisory service providers in disseminating various kinds of information to large, dispersed audiences.
