Roles and impacts of ICT in the reduction of vulnerability in rural households in Niger: The case of Maradi
In Niger, the use of mobile phones for information exchange on agro-pastoral products has become a major tool to reduce the vulnerability of rural households. This paper presents the results of a field study that demonstrated the importance of ICT applications in the promotion of marketing activities, as a tool to integrate small producers into the agricultural value chain, and in the development of farmers’ adaptive capacity and resilience.
